All
Saints.
Jesus said to his disciples and to
the crowd: "How happy are the poor in spirit;
theirs is the kingdom of heaven." The
Beatitudes are given to us as the way of life for all
Christians and for anyone who wants to live life to
the full. To be poor in spirit does not mean that we
think that we are no good. At times this is how it is
passed on to us. It does mean to be in touch with the
wonders of who we are, how good we are, but to know
that all of that is gift, not possession. We have so
much and yet we either take it for granted or we are
only aware of what we don't have. This week is a call
to be in touch with our richness and be filled with
gratitude and gladness. How important this is for every
married couple if they are to live their marriage fully.
It is also very important for families to rejoice in
each other. And our faith community is so full of the
goodness of people and richness of Christ. To be a saint
is to be a person of gratitude.
Fr. Johnny Doherty, C.Ss.R.

from 3.00pm – 4.00pm, and in St Mary’s,
Dregish, today, from 4.30pm to 5.30pm.
FEAST
OF ALL SOULS tomorrow, 2nd November. There
will be Mass in both our churches for All Souls Day:
Drumnabey at 10.00am and Dregish at 7.30pm.
BOOK OF
REMEMBRANCE: I invite you to write the names
of your deceased relatives and friends in the Book of
Remembrance at the front of the church. They will be
prayed for each time Mass is celebrated in the church
during the month of November.
INDULGENCES:
From 12.00noon today (1 Nov) until midnight
tomorrow (2 Nov), all who have confessed, received Holy
Communion and prayed for the Pope’s intentions,
(one Our Father, one Hail Mary and a prayer of one’s
choice), can gain a Plenary Indulgence by visiting a
church, and there reciting one Our Father and the Apostles’s
Creed. All who visit a cemetery and pray for the dead
may gain a plenary indulgence from 1 – 8 November.

VISITATION
OF THE SICK AND HOUSEBOUND
Fr O’Doherty
will visit the sick and housebound this week, in the
Drumnabey area on Thursday and in Dregish on Friday.

EXPOSITION
OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT in St Francis of Assisi,
Drumnabey, on Thursday evenings, during November (commencing

to use this opportunity to spend some time of prayer
and reflection in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament.

M A S S E S
Drumnabey:
Monday 10.00am, Thursday 7.30pm
Dregish:
Monday 7.30pm, Wednesday 10.00am, First Friday 7.30pm

Please
note that, during the month of November, the Friday
Mass in Dregish will be at 7.30pm. I know
that many people make an extra effort to attend weekday
Masses during November, when we remember all our dead
in a special way, and it is hoped that this Friday evening
Mass will facilitate a larger number of people than
the morning Mass. I hope too that it will be suitable
for our regular Friday morning Mass goers. The Envagh
PS children, who normally attend the Friday morning
Mass, will be brought to the Wednesday morning Mass
during November.

THANK YOU for your generosity in last week’s
collection:
Dregish £305, Drumnabey £340.
