Our God of Love

“God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son”. Isn’t it amazing how easily we settle for less than is possible? We settle for the fact that there is a God in terms of faith. Jesus tells us that God is not just in existence but is alive and in love and passionate about us – that God is Three in One. Our faith is a call into a deep personal love of God so that we can come to know the wonder and the fullness of life. However, we also settle for life as being just all right. Jesus tells us that we are wonderful; we are the beloved of God. We are called into a deep personal love for one another in marriage, in family life and in our faith community so that we can engage with the adventure of life that leads us into eternal life. The challenge of this week is to open ourselves to the wonder and excitement of life and love.

Trinity Sunday

Today, as we celebrate the Feast of the Most Holy Trinity, we reflect on how we entered into the life and mystery of the Trinity:

At Baptism, God the Father became our creator, our source of life and our goal of living.

God assumed full human nature on earth in the form of Jesus Christ, who became our role model for living.

In the form of the Holy Spirit, God became the power and presence within us, that would lead and guide us through our earthly lives, back to Him, through Jesus, the Word of God.

CONGRATULATIONS to the children of Drumnabey Primary School who made their First Confessions this week.

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION

This collection is vital to the work of the Hospitalité for the Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes, which takes place from 16 – 21 July. EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS Would the people whom I have approached regarding becoming Ministers of the Eucharist please call with me in the sacristy after Mass today or to the house during the week. We intend to have a Commissioning Ceremony of our new Eucharistic Ministers at the beginning of June.
